As somebody who went multiple times back and forth from both 'guitar worlds' I think acoustic is much better place to start. Electric adds too much variables like gain staging, is harder to setup properly, adds some gear dependence and is therefore harder to travel with and is arguably less convenient to play with other people in non-gig scenario. With that mentioned if electric motivates you more and is closer to your music taste - go for it.

Tone Truth: Fingers or Gear?
Tone is mostly in the fingers, not the gear: 100% Agree or Nah, gear matters?

🎸 The timeless guitarist debate, is your tone really in your hands, or in your pedals, amps, and pickups? Some say it’s all technique, others swear gear makes the magic.

Where do you land, GuitarGym fam? Let’s settle this once and for all.

First we need to find a definition, as objective and rooted on physics as possible, for that 'Guitar Tone' concept. Anyway, it can't be considered to be a direct consequence of one OR the other options, IMHO.
